Liturgical Ministries

Liturgical ministry is an excellent opportunity to fulfill your baptismal call of service to one another. Our liturgies should utilize the talents and gifts that God has given this community to the fullest extent. Whether participation is through “behind the scenes” preparation and planning or through a public role of service within the Mass, parishioner contributions help our liturgies to be truly life-giving celebrations. Please prayerfully consider joining one of these ministries.

Ministry Schedule and Minister Lists

Adult Choir –

Any member of the parish who has the desire and the talent to sing in a choir is encouraged to join. This choir sings each Sunday at the 11:00am Mass and practices each Wednesday from 7:00pm – 9:00pm in the church. In addition, the choir adds solemnity and dignity to the celebration of the Triduum and other celebrations such as Solemn Vespers on various feasts of the liturgical calendar.

Altar Server –

Serving at the Altar is a very important ministry in the Church. Altar servers add to the solemnity that already surrounds the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. They assist the Priest in important ways in his role as head of the worshiping church. To become an altar server, you must be in at least 5th Grade and have received the  sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.

Children’s Choir –

Children in grades 4th-8th sing once a month with our mixed choir at the 11:00 am Sunday Mass. The children will learn special music in English, as well as Latin pieces. This is an opportunity for your children to be exposed to the rich liturgical tradition of our Catholic faith.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion –

These ministers assist with the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass. All ministers of Holy Communion should show the greatest reverence for the Most Holy Eucharist by their demeanor, their attire, and the manner in which they handle the consecrated bread or wine.

Hospitality Minister –

These ministers welcome people as they enter the Church for Mass and are a friendly and helpful presence. They seat people during Mass, take up the offertory collection, and pass out the bulletin as people leave Mass.

Lector –

A lector proclaims the Word of God at Mass.

Liturgical Coordinator –

These ministers set up for Holy Mass and coordinate the liturgy with the various other ministers.
